State Of Franklin Antique Bottle & Collectibles Association, Club Purpose: Preservation, study, and salvage of historical artifacts, sharing knowledge, promoting interest and to have a place collectors can meet and have a great time talking about their collectibles. The State of Franklin Antique Bottles and Collectibles Association was founded September 4, 1998, with 18 charter members. The name was derived from the Lost State of Franklin that encompassed East Tennessee from Knoxville upwards, part of NC, KY and VA in the 1700s. Because this was the general area the club served, the name seemed appropriate. Club meetings are held in the ticket office of the Appalachian Fairgrounds in Gray, TN. The meetings are held at 7:00 pm with the business portion first, followed by a guest speaker, a show-n-tell session, an auction and a door prize drawing. Membership dues are $15.00 per family or individual. With membership you receive a monthly newsletter, The Groundhog Gazette. The newsletter contains club news, an informative article, want ads and upcoming events. Tennessee Valley Traders and Collectors Club, Morristown, Tennessee The club was the brainchild of R.L. “Pete” Wyatt, known around those parts as the Lost Creek Bottle Farmer. Pete was active in the East TN Antique Bottle & Collectibles Society (Knoxville) and the State of Franklin Bottle Club (Johnson City). He thought there would be an interest for collectors in the area between those groups, which are located about 100 miles apart. Morristown is about half-way between the two clubs, so they organized there. Tally-Ward Recreation Center is centrally located and provides an excellent meeting place each month. During the Club’s first three meetings, they had from 20 to 27 people attending. President: Pete Wyatt, 1219 Sweet Williams Lane, New Market, Tennessee 37820

Uwharrie Bottle Club When Badin’s David Summerlin moved to Valley Drive, he found a load of old bottles in his back yard. Intrigued, he asked friend Jerry Hall, a bottle collector, if there were any treasures among them. The answer was no, but Summerlin was hooked.
These days, he and friend Hall attend bottle shows all over the southeastern United States, toting their sizeable collections to show and sell. Both men belong to the Uwharrie Bottle Club begun 5 years ago by Badin native Todd McSwain. Attn: Todd McSwain 8649 Eddins Poplin Road Norwood, North Carolina 28128 704.474.0552 FOHBC Member Club
