Promising Cures now available Online…Free!

 27 March 2023

Dear Friends,

I am delighted to update you with some very exciting news: my book, PROMISING CURES, is now in digital format online, available to all readers, researchers, and perusers of history!!

It can be found on – one of the world’s largest websites dedicated to family and local history! They’ve done an amazing job loading it there, making it available to all, forever and free!

You will be able to scroll through every page, or choose to see all the pages in a whole volume at the same time in thumbnail view, and even search for any name or word you type in (just click on the magnifying glass), which is a great tool to find an ancestor, business, or health product that might have been in Lynn. Plus many more features, too.

Here is the link to the books on or you can type in the URL:, click on the Search tab, select Books, then type “Promising Cures” (with the quotes works best).

The full-color cover of each volume will show up; FYI they are color coded. Click on the cover to see the pages inside. Note:

Yellow title  =  Volume 1

Blue title      =  Volume 2

Green title    =  Volume 3

Red title       =  Volume 4

If you do not already use, you may need to set up an account for full access, but remember everything on the website is absolutely free. If you think you may want to go back to the books several times in the months and years ahead, I would recommend you bookmark the URL when you’ve gotten to these books.

PROMISING CURES: The Pursuit of Health in a 19th Century New England Community: Lynn, Massachusetts continues to be available for purchase at in hardcover and paperback editions but finally, and as promised, it is now available at no charge online!

As always, thanks for your interest, support, and friendship over the years. I hope you’ll get a chance to take a look and enjoy what you read! If you take a peek at it, please let me know – I’d love to hear from you.

Continued best wishes,

–Andy Rapoza
